ASC Tutoring Program
The Academic Success Center (ASC) provides peer tutoring (student to student) for all Emmaus students. The Tutoring Program exists to promote academic learning (for students of all skill levels) by assisting them in difficult classes, reinforcing effective study skills, and teaching them to direct their own learning. Additionally, the program reinforces the Emmaus community by encouraging students to communicate clearly (both with peers and with professors), to collaborate effectively on important projects, and to distinguish between ethical and unethical academic assistance.
Tutoring is offered in two different ways
The Academic Success Center is staffed with one or more tutors Monday through Thursday evenings. Students may come for help during the hours the Center is open – no appointment is necessary. While tutors are available and skilled to help in all subjects, their specialties are listed.
On-call Tutoring is available during times when the Academic Success Center is not open. You may contact a tutor personally to set up an appointment to meet with them at a time convenient to both of you.
Tutoring services are available on an on-call basis on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday between the hours of 7:00 am and 12:00 midnight, as tutors’ schedules allow. The ASC is closed those days (for tutoring).
On-call tutoring is not available between 12:00 am (midnight) and 7:00 am any night of the week.
